BBQ with Boterman
As a brand ambassador for top national BBQ brands including Meat Church, Jealous Devil, Cowboy Wagyu and Northern Fire BBQ Supply, I'm always pushing myself to learn more about the science and history of meat and cooking methods to help people contextualize not only how to cook, grill, and smoke certain things, but why we cook them that way. My passion is learning, sharing, and teaching. I will do it for the rest of my life.
That's why I started BBQ with Boterman. I want to inspire people to cook outside of their comfort zone. During our live events, I break down recipes and techniques to help people be more confident in their ability to cook. I’ve always had a huge love of grilling and smoking and I want others to have the excitement and confidence they need to create beautiful meals they are proud to share with others.
My love for cooking started like most people - by helping my mom in the kitchen. In my teenage years, I became obsessed with the Food Network and began trying to copy the recipes laid out by masters like Emeril Lagasse, Alton Brown, Gordon Ramsay, Bobby Flay, and so many others. I marveled at the exotic ingredients they used and desperately tried to find them in Minnesota. My passion continues and am so happy those ingredients are easier to find now!
In my free time I am also a food stylist and photographer, drummer, and sales and marketing coordinator for Eversharp, a knife and kitchen supply store in Northeast Minneapolis.
